Mukkali trip

Surprisingly, during first week of Feb'10 i have decided to visit MUKKALI - a hill station near Coimbatore. It (Mukkali) belongs to Kerala State. The distance from Coimbatore to Mukkali is about 65 kms. Eventhouh i am living in Coimbatore for the last 59 years, i never thought there is a route to Kerala apart from Palghat. This route runs thro' Kanuvai, Somianur and Anakatti. There ends Tamilnadu Border. You can reach Anakatti from Coimbatore by bus. If you are able to go by two-wheeler or four wheeler you could also travel by them. During travel from Coimbatore upto Anaikatti you can see paddy fields, brick kilns,
social forests which are greeny. You must get down at Anakatti where Tamilnadu boundry ends.
From there you can go by walk to reach Kerala state boundry and get the buses to Kerala villages. I boarded a bus at Anakatti and bought a ticket to Mukkali. The route is (via) Attappadi, Agali which are hilly villages having natural beauty. While travel, i enjoyed the hilly tracks, scenaries, tallest trees, jungle bushes,
rivers, streams,
natural forest smells and so on.
You may think why i choose Mukkali. The reason is there lies the 'SILENT VALLEY' world's No. One 'NATIONAL PARK' with dense forests wild animals. After reaching there only, i came to know that i have to travel about 12 km. to see the NATURAL BEAUTY of SILENT VALLEY. I got the particulars from the Forest Officials about stay and getting into forest with their permission in their departmental vehicles. NO DOUBT AT ALL - KERALA IS GOD'S OWN COUNTRY. Dont forget to visit and enjoy the NATURE of SILENT VALLEY.
All the best!
